You shall not appear before me empty!

The Feast of Weeks (known culturally within Israelite communities as “Kag Shavuoth”) is one of three appointed times in Torah which THE GREAT FATHER mandates that every man of every house of Yisrael had to “appear” before HIM. He who appeared could not appear if he did not come in a spirit of joyfulness - overflowing. To say it in another way, The man that came before The Most High would not even come into HIS sight if he attempted to present himself in a state of emptiness.

As we approach the second of HIS three obligatory feast observances we endeavor for our people to be received and not rejected. So as to encourage action that would keep us and ours from being divinely excluded or thrust out, I have listed basic questions that if a man would ask and answer honestly, should inspire him to gauge his state of mind/heart then take necessary steps towards filling himself with joy before presenting himself/his offering before THE ETERNAL.

· Did I awake this morning?

· Was I able to move some or all of my extremities this morning?

· Was I able to move some or all of my limbs this morning?

· Was I able to gain access to food, clothing, and shelter prior to today?

· Was I able to gain access to the food, clothing, and shelter, that I desired, fully, or in some part?

· Have I been given ears to hear my father’s voice?

· Have I been given a heart to claim my position of one of his chosen?

· Have I been given mercy, despite missing the mark?

· Have I been introduced to people that have assisted me when I had not been worthy?

HE has been true and HE has given opportunities, despite us getting in our own way. HIS word has never failed. If you have been called and even blessed with the ears to hear HIS voice, to be one of HIS, despite all that you have been through, and even through all that your ancestors have been through, give thanks and be grateful – for he could have always chosen to go in an alternative route. For that alone we should be filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, realizing that anything else after life itself is a bonus.

May your Kag Shavuot be the best one yet.

Kag Samek! Joyous Feast!

Peace be to you. Peace be to your house. And peace be unto all that is yours! Shalom Shalom!
